History
In the spring of 1990, Tom Patten loaded up his belongings and drove across Michigan to Metro Detroit to begin selling funeral supplies. Growing up in the monument business, Tom had developed a strong understanding of the funeral industry. He soon began working for Bruce Elder, a successful entrepreneur who helped guide Tom toward his dream of owning Hilton Funeral Supply.
Officially established in 1992, Hilton’s foundation was built on hard work, dedication, and personal relationships, with Tom traveling the roads and making calls to funeral homes. Just a few years later, Tom’s brother, Tim, joined the business, making Hilton a true family affair. While Tom covered Michigan, Tim expanded the company’s reach throughout Indiana.
In 2011, Jason Weir, CFSP, joined the Hilton team, bringing an important perspective to the business as a Licensed Funeral Director. Having firsthand experience in funeral service, Jason understands how important it is for funeral homes to have a dependable, knowledgeable source for the supplies they rely on every day. His experience further strengthened Hilton’s commitment to understanding and supporting the needs of funeral professionals.
Over the years, Hilton has continued to grow, expand its product offerings, and build lasting relationships with funeral directors throughout the Midwest and beyond. From embalming fluids and plastics to printed funeral stationery, blank stock, promotional products, and keepsake candles, Hilton has evolved into a comprehensive source for funeral home supplies while remaining true to the family-owned values on which the company was founded.
